The PSM vision is one of a healthy and sustainable Methow Valley community that:
1. Utilizes the energy income from the sun available in the local ecosystem as its primary energy source
2. Re-uses and recycles all physical resources, thus creating no waste or toxicity
3. Obtains most of its resources, goods and services from the local community and the surrounding bioregion/watershed
4. Grows most of its food locally
5. Maintains a stable human population that lives within the long-term carrying capacity of the watershed
6. is a steward of local flora, fauna water and other elements of the natural world
7. nurtures its children, cares for its elders and encourages healthy and forthright community-building relations and communication between all its people
